台灣「桌球教父」莊智淵今天在亞洲盃桌球賽男單8強，以4比2擊敗左手持拍的伊朗一哥阿拉米揚，除拿下對戰6連勝，也闖進4強。
今天兩人再次比武，前兩局莊智淵分別以11比7、7比11和敵手打平，所幸莊智淵很快站穩腳步，接連以11比7、11比7連搶2局，也取得3比1聽牌。不料第5局莊智淵墮入亂流，以6比11失守。
稍早陳思羽在8強與印度好手巴特拉（Manika Batra）激戰7局後惜敗，接力登場的老將莊智淵則沒有漏氣，順遂擊敗世界排名84的伊朗一哥阿拉米揚（Noshad Alamiyan），搶下4強入場券。

值得一提的是，亞洲盃4強若不幸落敗，還得進行銅牌戰，莊智淵曾在2013年亞洲盃拿下銅牌、追平2006年蔣澎龍鍍銅的隊史最好成就，本年他再次揮軍4強，將可再次挑戰隊史紀錄。

2022亞洲盃桌球賽今天在泰國曼谷進行第2天賽事，這次角逐唯一男、女各16人獲邀參賽，台灣有4人，此中一哥林昀儒與鄭怡靜雙雙在首輪落馬，僅陳思羽和世界排名16的莊智淵順遂闖過甚關。
莊智淵過去和阿拉米揚5度比武，從未吞敗，雙方本年才在WTT薩格勒布（Zagreb）挑戰賽16強交鋒，那時兩人戰滿5局，莊智淵在最後穩住陣腳，以3比2脫困晉級。
